Manage Your Plan and Billing

A guide to upgrading plans, switching billing frequency, updating payment methods, managing invoices, and canceling your Elicit subscription.

Your subscription overview

You can view and manage your current plan at any time from your Account Settings page. Scroll to the Subscription & Billing section to see:

  • Your current plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual)

  • Your workflow usage and remaining balance

  • Options to upgrade, change billing frequency, or cancel

Upgrade or change your plan

To upgrade from Basic to Plus, Pro, or Team — or to move between tiers — go to Account Settings and scroll to the Subscription & Billing section. Select the plan you'd like and follow the checkout prompts.

Use the dropdown menu at the top of the plan section to switch between Industry and Academic plan options. Click Monthly or Annual at the top right of the plan section to switch billing terms. The table under the plans section describes what's included in each plan.

Switch to annual billing

Annual plans offer a discount and unlock a full year's worth of workflows immediately. To switch from monthly to annual billing, go to Account Settings, scroll to Subscription & Billing, and select the annual option for your current plan.

Update your payment method

Go to Account Settings and scroll to the bottom of the Subscription & Billing section. Click View on Stripe to open your Stripe customer portal, where you can update your credit card or other payment details.

View receipts and invoices

Elicit emails a receipt after each payment, along with a link to a downloadable invoice. To access past invoices or add billing information (such as your company address, VAT number, or tax ID) to future invoices:

  1. Scroll to Subscription & Billing and click View on Stripe

  2. In the Billing Information section, click Update information

Note: Elicit cannot retroactively update invoices that have already been issued. For step-by-step instructions, see Add Information to Invoices or Receipts.

Enterprise and institutional customers: Invoice-based billing is available for Enterprise and Institutional plans. Contact [email protected] to discuss options. See Invoice-Based Billing for more.

Cancel your subscription

You can cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, and you retain read-only access to completed workflows after cancellation.

Plus or Pro: Go to Account SettingsSubscription & Billing → click Downgrade to Basic.

Team or Scale: Click your name in the top right → Manage → scroll to Subscription & Billing → click the three-dot menu → Cancel plan.

Managing a Team plan

Team admins have access to an Admin Settings dashboard (click your name in the top right → Admin Settings) where you can:

  • Invite or remove team members

  • View workflow usage across the team

  • Purchase additional seats

Seats can be added at any time. Removing seats takes effect at the next billing date. For full team management details, see Elicit's Scale Plan for Teams.
